Printed, paper-based container for hot food, has external coating reducing absorption of low-migration printing ink

A coating on the surface of the paper to be printed, reduces absorption of the printing ink being used, in comparison with the uncoated paper surface. The printing ink is low-migration and the printing surface is sealed by a dispersion. The printed side has a so-called clay-coated surface. The side facing the food is coated with a barrier layer of plastic. The paper is a hard paper. The sealing dispersion is low-migration. The printing ink contains a ternary fatty acid ester. Further quantified data concerning the materials used, is provided. An independent claim IS INCLUDED FOR the method of making the food container.
