Aqueous suspension transferring involves cooling of the aqueous suspension in a stirred tank at 60-90[deg] C following the polymerization, and is transferred into a tank from the stirred tank, by a heat exchanger. An independent claim is also included for a method for production of expandable styrene polymers, which involves carrying out polymerization of the monomers in aqueous suspension in a stirred tank in presence of a volatile expanding agent, and dosing of the aqueous phase over a period of 5-60 minutes.
