The unit (7) has an inspection device i.e. needle, for introduction into an examination object i.e. patient (P). A light inlet/outlet controls light from the inspection device into the examination object and from the examination object into the inspection device. The inspection device is marked in subranges with magnet resonance (MR) visible substances such as gadolinium, iron and fluorine. A rigid cover made of non-magnetic material surrounds the inspection device. A light source (11) i.e. laser source, supplies a stimulation light ray.
