The endoscope has a programmable logic component (13) forming a signal processing circuit (19) based on a program data set assigned to a signal processing. A memory (17) stores two program data sets with same data contents. A program controller (11) reads one of the two program data sets from the memory, and writes the read data sets into the logic component. The program controller determines whether the read program data set is safe, and writes the others both program data sets stored in the memory into the logic component, if the read program data set is not safe. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a device for forming of a signal processing circuit of an electronic endoscope (2) a computer-readable medium comprising instructions to form a signal processing circuit of an electronic endoscope (3) a method for forming a signal processing circuit of an electronic endoscope.
