The method involves fixing a number of turbine blade on a disk, determining an initial point for a dovetail making location in relation to a reference line. The initial point defines a length of the dovetail making location along a dovetail axis. A cutting angle is determined for the dovetail removal. The reference line is positioned in a fixed position to a front side of a shovel dovetail (16) along a central line of the dovetail axis. The initial point of the dovetail making location lies at an approximate distance of 1539 inches from the reference line in rearward direction. An independent claim is also included for a turbine blade, which has a shovel blade and a shovel dove tail.
