The structure has a shield ring (21) with a folded-back portion (26) that interconnects inner and outer tubular portions (27, 28), where the portions jointly assume a V-shape in cross-section. An end portion of a tubular shielding layer (23) is inserted between the inner tubular portion and the outer tubular portion. The ring is pressed by a shield shell (22), when the shell is inserted into the ring in a direction opposite to a direction of insertion of the layer, so that a gap between the inner and outer portions decreases. The layer is firmly held between the inner and outer portions.
