The device has a valve slider arranged in a valve housing, where the valve slider is movable between two opening positions and is movable from a home position. A valve housing comprises a bypass outlet for passing large fluid flow to be passed to a heat exchanger based on a position of the valve slider. A fluid flow channel is closed by the valve slider in the home position. An additional outlet is closed and a heat-transfer outlet is opened, in one of the opening positions of the slider. The outlet is opened and the heat-exchanger outlet is closed, in other opening position of the slider. An independent claim is also included for a method for cleaning a heat-exchanger valve device.
