Thermal displacement estimation method involves calculating correction coefficient of difference of the setting-considerable emitted heat amount in main-shaft rotational speed change from the relationship between predetermined main-shaft rotational speed and the setting-considerable emitted heat amount (S4). The temperature-considerable emitted heat amount is calculated (S5). The amount of compensation calculated from the correction coefficient and the elapsed time after a main-shaft rotational speed change (S6) is applied to the temperature-considerable emitted heat amount.
