The interface has a display to display ultrasound data, and physical regulators e.g. on/off switches, to regulate functions of an ultrasonic system (100). The regulators comprise a user operated component that enables physical actions associated with system parameters of the ultrasonic system. The physical actions comprise rotation movements and transmission movements, and each of the system parameters is associated with an ultrasound system action. An independent claim is also included for a method for regulating an ultrasonic system.
