Deodorizing cosmetic agent comprises at least a photocatalytic effective metal-oxide, as a smell reducing active agent, in a carrier. An independent claim is included for a procedure for the non-therapeutic, cosmetic deodorizing treatment of the body comprising applying the agent on the skin, preferably skin of the armpit and/or foot and exposing the body surface to the light at a wave length of 300-1200 nm, preferably 380-800 nm.
