The invention relates to the human and mouse MTR1 protein, having at least one biological activity of a TRP protein and/or related to the etiology of BWS and /or tumors associated with modifications 11p15.5, in addition to MTR1-related proteins and the sequences coding therefor. The invention also relates to antibodies binding MTR1 or related proteins, in addition to antisense RNAs or ribozymes directed against the expression of MTR1, and medicaments and diagnostic methods in which said compounds are used.
