PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer or the like which can cut a receipt at a suitable position in accordance with received printing data.;SOLUTION: The printer 50 carries out printing on the basis of settlement information printing data or additional information printing data received from a host computer 40. The printer 50 is equipped with a first control means 521 which suspends both printing of the printing data and execution of a paper cutting command added to the printing data when it receives the settlement information printing data from the host computer, a printing data discriminating means 522 which detects the printing data received during the execution suspension of the paper cutting command by the presence or absence of an identifier, and a second control means 523 which executes the paper cutting command after printing of the printing data if it is detected that the received printing data is the additional information printing data, and which executes the paper cutting command before printing of the printing data if it is detected that the received printing data is not the additional information printing data.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
