A cutting device (3 figure 1) for use with a pasta-making attachment for a multi-purpose kitchen machine, such as a food mixer or a food processor, comprises a housing (21 figure 1), attachable to the machine, which contains an extruder (22 figure 1) driven at an appropriate speed from a drive outlet of the machine, and a replaceable pasta die (23 figure 1), formed with one or more apertures intended to impart a desired shape to pasta material, which is fed to the extruder by way of a hopper (25 figure 1). The invention provides a cutter enabling the pasta to be cut to a chosen length; the cutter including a hollow, tapered shell member 31 of frusto-conical form, the smaller end 32 of which fits over a part of the housing and the larger end 33 of which is formed with an internal screw thread 34a. A hollow, substantially tubular securing member 35 formed with an external screw thread 34b engages with the internal screw thread so that the securing member can be screw-fitted to the shell member. The securing member bears a plurality of flexible fingers 36 extending inwardly of the shell member to partially overlie the housing (21 figure 1) and the fingers are urged into engagement with the housing when the securing member and the shell member are screwed together thereby securely, but releasably, coupling the shell member to the housing. The securing member also supports a plate 37 formed with an aperture 38 aligned with the opening in the housing and the plate bears a cutter blade 39 movable relative thereto for cutting pasta emergent from the opening.
