The inventive method for producing an elongated hollow piece made of a composite material consists in producing at least one braided shell (10) by winding at least one thread impregnated with a polymerisable organic material such as a thermosetting resin on at least one layer around a mould (10), wherein said at least one thread consists of at least one long and continuous fibre such, in particular as a glass or carbon fibre. Said invention is characterised in that the mould (10) is fixed and the winding of at least one thread therearound is carried out by combining the rotational movement around said mould and a translational movement along a longitudinal central line thereof of at least one thread spool.
