The method involves writing, for each data to be recorded, a set of coded writing areas (716, 816) in a selected density level susceptible to be restored and lower than a row of an initial base. The density level of each area is associated in a bi-unique manner to a coded digital value in another row base corresponding to a number of a selected gray or density levels. The value of the data to be recorded is based on a univalent function of digital values of the writing areas (716).
