The method involves positioning three piezoelectric effect axial force sensors (36) at the level of a stator (28) of a centrifugal pump (10), where the sensors are distributed around a rotation axis of a rotor of the pump. The intensity, direction and sense of radial and axial forces exerted on the pump are simultaneously calculated from axial forces measured by the sensors. The sensors are mounted in holes (38) traversed by fixation screws of the stator. An independent claim is also included for a device for measuring hydrodynamic exerting on a centrifugal pump.
