The method involves utilizing a fragmented solid compound e.g. perfumed round balls, integrated in liquid perfume and adapted to diffuse the perfume under agitation. The compound is agitated in a periodic manner using an agitating unit e.g. electric motor, and a carrier air flow is utilized for diffusing the perfume to an environment to be perfumed (12), of a place (14) e.g. shop. A time interval is permitted between agitation periods of the compound of different perfumes, agitation duration and quantity of compound. An independent claim is also included for an odor diffusing device comprising a fragmented solid compound receiving a hollow body.
