The device has a case (1) that receives pests and is provided in an air space (5) behind a wall (4) of a construction e.g. hotel. The case forms an insert embedded in a cut (3) provided in the wall. The insert is positioned inside an air space (5) adjoining the wall. The case has a rear side (6) and lateral sides, where the one of the sides has a pre-cut (11) for providing a passage from the air space towards the interior of the case. The rear side and two of the lateral sides form a ceiling of the case and are provided with pre-cuts for forming an opening in one of the sides of the case. An independent claim is also included for a method for trapping pest by using a pest trapping device.
