The device has a robust case (20) including an alarm detection, analyzing and teletransmission units, impact sensors, and a verification unit to verify electrical continuity of an overhead cable e.g. overhead power transmission line (1). A continuous wire grounding the transmission line in its median zone is connected to secondary side of a transformer whose primary side is connected to a capacitor.
