The process for obtaining a precision bore in a cardan yoke ring (17), comprises forming a bore of dimension less than the desired calibrated bore dimension using a first punching operation, forming a preform of corrugated bore (11c) using a second punching operation, and polishing the corrugated bore preform so as to calibrate the bore to the desired dimension and the precision. Independent claims are included for: (1) a process for manufacturing a cardan yoke from a metal strip; (2) a tool for obtaining a precision bore in a cardan yoke ring; and (3) a cardan yoke.
