The holder (1) has an elongated body (10) extending along an axis of body, and a body`s end clamping unit (13) e.g. male cone, connecting the tool holder to a machine tool. A head (12) fixes the tool to another end of the body and is connected to the body through a removable torsion damping unit (11). The body includes a reinforcement near the clamping unit, where the reinforcement is made of more rigid material e.g. tungsten carbide, than that of the body. The damping unit has two metallic plates connected to each other by a vulcanized elastomer layer.
