The method involves inserting a reinforcing rod (1) in a joint (3) of an internal section similar to an external section of the rod for realizing friction between the rod and the joint. The rod is slid in the joint on a portion to be lubricated. A lubricant dose (5) is deposited between a free end of the rod and the joint using a lubricant depositing unit (6) such that the lubricant dose is passed around the rod. The rod is slid in the joint to retract the rod and to spread the lubricant dose on the portion to be lubricated. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a device for lubricating a rod (2) a system for lubricating two rods comprising a rod lubricating device.
