The device (16) has cylindrical rotors (R1, R2) of parallel axes (A1, A2), where the rotors are driven simultaneously in rotation in same direction and are spaced from one another in a manner to permit passage of material to be combed between the rotors. Each rotor has a series (S11-S12, S21-S22) of radial combing teeth (D11-D12, D21-D22) axially distributed along the rotor. The teeth are arranged in helix along cylindrical wall of the rotor. An independent claim is also included for a machine for combing fodder type material.
