The device has an electronic chip (1) of small dimension inserted in a dental prosthesis, where the chip is associated to a reader (3). The chip contains secured and encrypted medical data (2) for identifying the dental prosthesis. The reader emits an electromagnetic field (4) and permits, in association with a mobile or fixed computer (5) comprising software (6), reading of the data contained in the chip, after the data is decrypted by the software with a high security code. The data is searched in a database. Additional encrypted data is added in the chip. An independent claim is also included for a method for marking dental prosthesis.
