The slab (1) has a polystyrene body, and an upper surface (7) edged by parallel formwork rabbets (20, 21). The rabbets have a depth, measured between a plane and a base, which is greater than/equal to 40 millimeters, and a width, measured between a lateral wall (23) and another plane, which is greater than/equal to 60 millimeters. The latter plane is perpendicular to the former plane and passes via an edge of support surfaces of adjacent rabbets. A reinforcement plate (24) is partially projected over the rabbets (20, 21). The reinforcement plate is made of a material selected among wood, wood block, plywood, cardboard, mortar reinforced with fiber or asbestos-cement or plastic material. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a lightweight floor comprising a carrier structure (2) a method of forming a lightweight floor.
