The method involves generating a calibrated current in an internal circuit of connection to an external mass, where the internal circuit includes a main branch (5) connected to an electronic mass (2a) of a microprocessor (2). A value of the calibrated current delivered towards each of connectors (8, 9) is measured. A state of two external connections to the mass is deducted from the comparison of the measured value with a predetermined reference value so as to inform the rupture of the external connections. An independent claim is also included for a device for preventing a connection defect of a mass of calculation unit to a microprocessor, comprising an internal circuit.
