The system has a sender agent (6) storing an instruction query message of size greater than a preset size. The agent sends a message requesting capacity to a receiver agent (8) corresponding to a destination address, where size of the capacity is less than or equal to the preset size. The sender agent sends the stored instruction message based on a receipt of message authorizing instructions when the receiver agent is ready to process the instructions. The sender agent releases memory space occupied by the message after the stored instruction message is sent to the agent (8). An independent claim is also included for a method for managing messages transmitted in an on-chip interconnect network.
