The base has laths (3) arranged with respect to each other in a parallel manner, and a parallelepiped frame (1) provided with two stringers (2) forming a horizontal edge of the mattress. Two cross beams form edges of head and foot of the mattress, and laths define an interior space. One lath is transversely suspended the interior space of the frame. Each end of the lath is connected to an upper edge of the frame in extension by an elastic strap (4).
