Converting carbonaceous material into liquid hydrocarbons, e.g. diesel cuts, by gasifying, separating carbon dioxide, converting into carbon monoxide and carrying out Fischer-Tropsch synthesis
Converting carbonaceous material into liquid hydrocarbons, e.g. diesel cuts, by gasifying, separating carbon dioxide, converting into carbon monoxide and carrying out Fischer-Tropsch synthesis
Production of liquid hydrocarbon(s) (I) from carbonaceous material (II) involves: (A) gasifying (II) by partial oxidation and/or hydroreforming; (B) separating carbon dioxide (CO 2) from the obtained synthesis gas (SG) and mixing it with gas containing hydrogen (H 2) and carbon monoxide (CO); (C) partially hydroconverting the CO 2into CO; and D. preparing (I) by Fischer-Tropsch synthesis from gas containing SG and CO from step C. Production of liquid hydrocarbon(s) (I) from starting material(s) (II) selected from biomass, coal, lignite, petroleum residues boiling below 340[deg] C, methane and/or methane involves: (A) gasifying (II) in one or more zones by partial oxidation in presence of oxygen and/or hydroreforming; (B) separating carbon dioxide (CO 2) from the obtained synthesis gas (SG) (and optionally from the SG and at least part of the effluent from the subsequent step C.) and mixing the separated SG with gas containing hydrogen (H 2) and carbon monoxide (CO) in ratio more than 3; (C) partially hydroconverting the CO 2in the obtained first mixture into CO, catalytically or thermocatalytically, in a specific reaction zone separate from the partial oxidation zone; and (D) preparing (I) (mainly of at least 5C) by Fischer-Tropsch synthesis from gas comprising at least part of SG and at least some of the CO obtained by hydroconversion.
