A method for the treatment of hard mineral surfaces or concrete, involves (a) preparatory surface treatment, including degreasing and washing followed by (b) flame treatment causing thermal shock between 2500 and 2900 (preferably between 2700 and 2800) [deg]C so as to produce surface splitting to a depth of 0.5-4 (preferably 0.7-3) mm.
