The chimney (1) has a lower part provided with an open hearth (2), and smoke evacuation upper part provided with a bonnet (5) and a smoke evacuation conduit (6). The lower part brings closer or takes away the open hearth to or from the bonnet which is fixed, and has a ground support hollow foot (3) supporting at an end of the open hearth. A jack e.g. hydraulic jack, is controlled by a pedal (8) located at an end of the foot.
