The method involves comparing integration losses for two paths joining two points and choosing a path minimizing the losses if optical fiber links` losses are known. Signal to noise ratios are calculated for the paths joining the points, and compared, and a path maximizing the ratios is chosen, if the losses and maximum allowable input power in the links are known. Real allowable power in the links and the ratios are calculated, the ratios are compared, and path maximizing the ratios are chosen if the losses, the maximum allowable input power and amplifiers` maximum output power are known.
