Preparing a biocidal support surface comprises activating the surface of a support; fixing a polymer layer (I) on the obtained active site; fixing a polymerization initiator molecule on the active site; forming another polymer layer (II) on the active site; and optionally fixing a biocidal agent on the active site or converting the second polymer into a biocidal agent. An independent claim is included for a biocidal support surface obtained by the process.
