Extraction of a substance of a material contacted with a liquid kept in the liquid phase at a temperature below 374[deg] C, is claimed, where the liquid is a aqueous-based solution of non-neutral pH i.e. different from that of a pure water at the same conditions of temperature and pressure of pure water and is acidic or basic provided by the addition of the active gas. An independent claim is included for an apparatus for the implementation of the extraction comprises an enclosure in which the material is introduced for treatment, a liquid water being put temperature and/or pressurized before or after being put in touch with the material and means to modify the pH of pure water by introducing a gas.
