The device (101) has a unit (103) of axial stressing and driving in rotation of a mount (50) for displacing a spring (46) and the mount from a position to another position before mounting a servomotor. The unit comprises a rod (105) that is received and immobilized in a recess (48) of a plate (28) and traverses the mount. The rod has an end (107) receiving a rotational driving ring (108) mounted free on the rod, and an axial stressing ring (110) that is axially mobile on the rod. The ring (110) axially stresses the spring in compression by using the ring (108). An independent claim is also included for a method for using a device for locking a mounting unit.
