A method for the production of micro- and/or nano-thermites by coating oxidant particles (A) with a reducing metal or alloy (B), involves (a) formation of a solution containing dispersed particles (A) and a precursor of (B), (b) evaporation of the solution and (c) thermolysis of the residue deposited on the particles of oxidant.
