Industrial robot for transferring of e.g. body units, between e.g. presses, has moving mechanism with linear motor for driving moving mechanism, and rail movable in direction of sliding axis with respect to base plate
The robot has a moving mechanism (10) mounted at an end of a robot arm (12). A carriage (18) is movable along a sliding axis (23) with respect to a base plate (14). The moving mechanism has a linear motor for driving the mechanism, and a rail (16) movable in the direction of the sliding axis with respect to the base plate. A coupling unit combines the movement of the carriage with the rail, so that the relative motion of the rail with respect to the base plate implies an identical movement of the carriage with respect to the rail.
