The device has a handling unit (16) interposed between a frame (12) and a bedding surface (14) i.e. examination table. A geometry of the unit and bed's different elements ensure that the surface does not contact with an upper end of a rod (36) and a bed assembly supported with the ground when the bed is in top position. The surface supported on the end of the rod that immobilizes the surface, and causes rising of the frame with tubes (32), contacts with the ground such that the tubes does not contact with the ground and the bed rests on wheels (38) when the bed is in bottom position.
