The device has retaining slots (10) combined with antenna of readers, where each slot has a protection device that is controlled by an evaluation and control circuit (48). The circuit verifies read identification carrier data of objects (14) to check whether the selected slot is assigned to the object. The protection device has a blocking unit (38) that projects in the slots with unauthorization of the objects, and is removed from the slots with authorization.
