The manipulator has a telescopic column with a vertically non displaceable upper section (2a) fixed on an upper plate (3) of a carrier structure (5), an intermediate section (2b) slidingly mounted on the section (2a) and a lower section (2c) equipped of a gripping unit (6) e.g. clip, to grip loads. A motorized hoist (12), a cable (13), a hook (14) and a transversal axle (15) are controlled by a control device (20). The device is carried by the section (2a) of the column, and the sections are constituted by metallic frames that are encased to one another and have a C shaped transversal section.
