The method involves transmitting a passenger search request to a relation server (2) from a subscriber (11) e.g. driver, through a network (4) using a terminal (21). A vehicle search request is transmitted to the server (3) from another subscriber (12) e.g. passenger, through the network using another terminal (22). The server establishes a correspondence between the requests by determining whether an originating point (32) and an destination point (42) associated to the request of the subscriber (12) are found near a trajectory (14) associated to the request of the subscriber (11). An independent claim is also included for a system for relating a subscriber of a mobile telephone network with another subscriber of another mobile telephone network.
