The device has a control circuit to control field and armature currents (iF, iA) of a rotary electric machine (2). A detection part detects an electrical energy quantity in a power supply system (5) connected to the machine. An electronic control unit (4) has a suppressing section to suppress rotational fluctuation of an internal combustion engine (1) of a vehicle by controlling an electrical energy generation quantity and moment of torsion generated from the machine based on electrical energy load of the vehicle, the energy quantity of the system and a rotation speed (Ne) of the machine.
