The assembly has an exhaust manifold (7) including an exhaust gas inlet flange fixed to a cylinder head (8) at exhaust gas outlets of cylinders. An outlet flange is connected to an exhaust gas line through a gas treating and utilizing apparatus i.e. turbocharger. Tubes are arranged between the flanges to connect gas flows discharging from the cylinders into a single flow traversing the outlet flange toward the line. Extensions are provided for raising a temperature of the inlet flange to homogenize a manifold temperature, during operation, and received in hollow cylindrical counterbores.
