The method involves limiting or reducing generation of mechanical force to a piston by main and secondary injections (10-40) of a cylinder. The secondary injections of the cylinder are implemented during specific engine cycle and not during all the engine cycles and are adapted to limit a dilution of injected fuel in lubricating oil in an exhaust part of an internal combustion engine. An independent claim is also included for a method for determining an injection scenario.
