The device (10) has a microprocessor (12) transmitting a secured data to a computer terminal during communication with the terminal, where the communication between the peripheral device and a host terminal (14) is managed at the level of the terminal via a driver software (16). The device simulates a communication between another peripheral device presenting a human interface (13) and the host terminal. A memory stores secured elements and in which the secured data sent to the terminal are relative to the stored secured elements. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling security function from a secured peripheral device for being connected with a host terminal.
