Injector drift correction method for e.g. motor vehicle's direct injection oil engine, involves comparing actual injected and set point fuel quantities, and determining correction to be carried out to set point by using torque estimation
The method involves determining a set point fuel quantity, and determining a corresponding activation time by using cartography. Value (Ci) of an indicated average torque produced by an injection pattern at a level of a cylinder is estimated. An actual injected fuel quantity is estimated by using the torque and the cartography, and is compared with the set point fuel quantity. Correction to be carried out to a fuel set point is determined by using the indicated average torque estimation. The correction of the set point fuel quantity is stored.
