The device has a rectangular or square shaped plastic plate (2) provided with a compact disc receiving and retaining unit. A semi rigid booklet (3) formed in a carton and includes a rear element (32) and upper and lower covers (30, 31) which are connected to each other through folding lines. The plate is adhered to an inner face of the lower cover and is provided with a flexible tab (5) on an edge that is opposite to the rear element. The tab forms the integral part of the plate and is provided with a lip (6) that retains a longitudinal free edge (300) of the upper cover.
