The rail has a trimming material (8) e.g. synthetic material, forming a cover (18) and covering the rail, where the rail does not present high lateral inertia for being bent to install on a site. The cover has a lateral extension (16) placed on the material. A lateral groove (9) is provided on the extension and passes a guide roller. The material presents compressibility properties to permit evacuation, deflection or incrustation of objects e.g. waste, in the groove during passage of the roller. An external surface of the cover comprises an adherence unit formed of metallic/synthetic fibers. An independent claim is also included for a method for placing a guiding/runway rail in the ground.
