The method involves maintaining elongated hollow reinforcements (24, 26) of an armature of a rectangular tray in a mold by maintaining slides (20, 22) at longitudinal reinforcing ends. Plastic material is injected for molding each of the reinforcements on its entire surface, except surface co-operating with the slides. The reinforcing ends are closed by compressible plastic closure units (28, 30) in a direction of length of the reinforcement. An independent claim is also included for a mold for fabricating a rectangular tray.
