The method involves exerting initial compressive force on one of fixed and movable cores (34, 36) for applying the force against the other core, and releasing the force to allow the removal of the cores to form an air-gap (38). The additional pressure force is exerted on the oscillating elastic membrane (20) to make the membrane axially slide along the movable core in a direction of the fixed core to obtain the air-gap having a desired value (Y) when the two cores are arranged one against the other and before the initial compressive force is released.
